Strategy |
First 14 to 16 months:
Concentrate on growing a
vigorous, healthy pineapple plant for the first 14 to 16 months.
Fertilize in small amounts frequently (every 6 to 8 weeks) and water
during dry periods.
After 16 months, induce flowering or allow winter
cool period to induce flowering; reduce nitrogen fertilizer rate. Once
flowering occurs, continue to fertilize and water plants to enhance
fruit growth and quality.
